The fluff between the years

Have you noticed that there has been very little substance published on this blog for that last--ooh, say--year? Well, first of all, thanks for noticing and, secondly, thanks for coming back to visit despite the fluff. (And to those who have googled "homeschool+Objectivist" and found me, my most sincere apologies. I do and I am, but you'll find very little recent commentary about it here.)

In the last year, the Criss family has moved twice, expanded its local business magazine publishing "empire" dramatically, walked away--voluntarily and amicably--from said magazine publishing empire, and started a new regional publishing and public relations venture that places Mr. Criss in the home office some days and out pounding the streets on most others (literally and figuratively, as he is also training for a few upcoming marathons).

At last, it seems that the year of transition is coming to an end, and we are finally able to settle down long enough to look at one another lovingly, enjoy one another's company and hold meaningful conversations. It's about time, too, because I don't think I could have taken much more "transition". It has been stressful, to say the least. However, Mr. Criss is a hard-working, resourceful, talented man (and handsome, too) in whose abilities I have full confidence. The question was never if things would return to normal but when. Well, it seems that they are.

In the in-between time (from late July of last year until now), blogging obviously hasn't been a priority. I've started dozens of drafts, but I haven't had the time, mental energy or focus to finish many of them. Therefore, to keep the few of you--bless your hearts--who continue to regularly check this blog at least mildly entertained, I've posted fluffy diversions. Thanks for your patience.

Well, what now? In an effort to banish needless drains on my personal time created by perpetually unfinished projects and general in-between-ness, one of two things will happen this fall. I will either start blogging again, though probably not with pre-Katrina frequency, or I will simply stop blogging. It depends on how my family is doing and whether or not I feel like it (and though I like and feel as if I know many frequent RRnR readers, whether or not I keep this up has nothing to do with readership.).

I hope that doesn't sound too dramatic. I just thought you'd like to know what on earth is going on. And so you do.

As for now, I was wondering...what House of Hogwarts might I belong to?
:p

Close! I'm 91% Ravenclaw, but Gryffindor was second at 86%.

Thanks, Jeanne.
