Is it hot in here...or is it just ME?

Don't answer that...but DO go read this excellent commentary on global warming by Robert Tracinski at RealClearPolitics. And while you're there, read this and this. And this one, too.

Since you obviously have so much time to kill, grab the kids and gather 'round to watch The Great Global Warming Swindle (if it's not there, do a search. It gets pulled and republished nearly every day).

You've been conned. Real climate scientists are in near universal agreement. The folks interviewed in GGWS are FAR, FAR out of the mainstream of scientific thought.

Here's a much better site for you to check out: http://www.realclimate.org/

I'll check out the site, but I expect to find the same easily and often refuted arguments I've read before.

Though not likely, I'll let you know if I convert to the Church of Global Warming.

Natalie,
The never-ending numbers used in "global warming" debates can be twisted in so many ways and people easily isolate data to find the warmer/colder "trends" that fit their political leanings. But, one thing that has always bothered me is the simple fact that at our current consumption rates we will probably release (in less than 300-400 years) a huge ammount of the fossil fuels that the earth collected in millions of years. This is a giant change that will happen, and it is an "experiment" being conducted by 4 billion+ people that I doubt anyone can predict the exact outcome of...

If we gamble here and guess wrong the results could be very serious. I personally think that gambling with our children's future is not necessary if we show some commitment as a nation to energy research and promote the free market's power for creative and often brilliant new engineering solutions. Maybe this is nuclear and/or fuel cell technology, but why wait for other countries to master and patent the solutions?

Just a thought that maybe the real issue(s) is/are being ignored here...
